HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth men’s soccer senior Wyatt Omsberg has been selected to the 2017 Men’s Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy Watch List. This is the second year in a row that the Scarborough, Maine, native has appeared on the list.

The MAC Hermann Trophy is presented annually to one male and one female collegiate soccer player deemed to be the best individual in the nation.

In 2016, Omsberg was named to the NSCAA All-American Third Team. He was tabbed the conference’s top defensive player as well as a First Team All-Ivy selection for the second consecutive season.

Omsberg was part of the Big Green defensive front that only surrendered 12 goals in the regular season en route to the team’s third straight Ivy title. At the Dartmouth Celebration of Excellence, he was named the Class of 1948 Scholar-Athlete, an award given to one male and one female of the junior class who have combined outstanding performance in athletics and significant achievement in academics.

The Dartmouth senior is the only Ivy League representative on the 31-player watch list.

At the end of November, the 15 semifinalists will be determined by All-America voting conducted by Division I men’s soccer coaches. After that, the three semifinalists will be selected in December and the winner will be announced at the Missouri Athletic Club banquet in St. Louis on Jan. 5.
