ORLANDO – The Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL announced Monday afternoon the signing of former Dartmouth standout Troy Crema ’17 to a contract for the 2017-18 season.

The former Big Green forward led the team in scoring this past season as a senior, posting career highs with 29 points and 12 goals while dishing out 12 assists, two shy of his career best.

In addition to the scoring totals that led Dartmouth in 2016-17, Crema was named to the All-Ivy League First Team and ECAC Hockey Third Team as well as earning the conference's Player of the Week award on Jan. 24 and Player of the Month honors for January.

A veteran of 91 games in the green and white, Crema might be best remembered for scoring the game-winning goal against then-No. 11 Michigan at Thompson Arena in this past year’s season opener on Oct. 29, the first of his five winners this past season, ranking ninth in the nation.

The Toronto native joins a Solar Bears team that is the ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) and the Toronto Marlies (AHL).

This is Crema’s second stint with a pro team following the conclusion of his Dartmouth career, playing in a pair of games with the Rochester Americans (AHL) in March.
