Q & A with Olivia
Olivia comes to Dartmouth from La Canada High School. She was Champion of the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search Finals West and has trained in Wellington, Fla. with George Morris at the Horsemastership Clinic for two years.
Champ is the daughter of Sterling (Class of 82’) and Katy. She has two sisters. At Dartmouth, she is interested in pursuing computer science and writing.
The people at Dartmouth are adventurous and passionate in all aspects of their lives; the community inspires innovation, creativity, and excitement. The incredible traditions and enthusiastic students reflect how impactful the experience at Dartmouth truly is. I feel so at home despite the fact that Dartmouth is completely different from where I grew up, and I can’t wait for the four years ahead of me!
How long have you been riding and what got you interested in riding?
I’ve ridden my whole life because the bond with the animals is indescribably amazing. Their genuineness has taught me compassion, patience, and dedication; I’ve always appreciated how much they’ve given me.
I illustrated a life-sized portrait of my horse in Sharpie.
Outside of Equestrian, what do you like to do?
I love to draw and do creative projects of every kind. I play tennis and squash when I’m not at the barn.
What are your future plans?
I want to uncover my new interests and passions over the next four years at Dartmouth, and I hope to find a career after college that truly impacts people’s lives.
