Opened season splitting time at the hot corner, but was the regular third baseman by the end of the spring trip, starting 25 of the last 28 contests (two at shortstop) ... fielded .947 with just four errors at third ... went 3-for-5 with four RBIs with the bases loaded ... first of five multi-hit games came at top-ranked Florida ... the second hit was a two-out double in the ninth to start a rally to tie the game before falling in 12 innings ... stroked an RBI single the next day against the Gators as well ... ripped a two-run single in the seventh to break the deadlock and beat Maine, 4-2 ... started a two-run rally in the fifth with a lead-off single and scored the go-ahead run to help beat Columbia in seven innings, 3-1 ... belted his only home run of the year and rapped a walk-off, RBI single in the ninth to cap a three-run inning and complete the sweep of the Lions, 7-6 ... followed that up with another two-hit game with a walk against UMass Lowell ... doubled in each of the series against Brown, Cornell and Yale.

Started 13 games at second base and three at shortstop as a rookie ... one of three players during the season to post a streak of reaching base in 13 straight games ... really enjoyed hitting in odd innings with a .370 average (10-for-27) ... first collegiate hit came against Bucknell in second career game, and promptly stole second ... reached base twice with a hit and a hit by pitch against 16th-ranked UC Santa Barbara ... ignited three-run rally in the ninth by getting hit by a pitch with one down during the 4-3 win at Penn ... hit safely in six straight games after that, scoring runs in victories over Cornell, Yale and UMass Lowell ... smacked first double in the 8-7 win against Brown ... went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs in the 7-2 win at Harvard to help complete the four-game sweep.

Four-year letterman at Aliso Niguel for coach Craig Hanson ... captained the team as a senior shortstop to a runner-up finish in the CIF Southern Section for Division 2 with a 23-10 record and was a Senior SeaView League All-Star ... team had same finish during sophomore campaign while going 24-12 ... SeaView League championship sandwiched between those two seasons ... All-CIF Southern Section Division 2 First Team as a sophomore, Second Team as a junior ... All-SeaView League First Team last three years and Varsity Gold Glove Award all four ... the summer after graduating, played shortstop for the SoCal Renegades that won the 2014 Gates Field World Series and hit .400 (8-for-20) at the event.

Full name is Justin Masato Fowler ... son of Jeff and Chikako ... born Dec. 20, 1995 in Irvine, California ... father played soccer at UC Santa Barbara on the spring team before an ankle injury derailed his competitive career ... uncle’s father, Wally Kincaid, won six California Community College state baseball titles and was inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2010 ... plans to own his own business someday ... plays the piano and enjoys music and reading.
