Junior (2015-16): Rowed in the three seat of the second varsity that out-finished BU and UMass (6:46.6) … at the Eastern Sprints Regatta, she was the three seat in the second varsity that was third in the Grand Final (7:09.58) … was the three seat in the second varsity in the Ivy League Championship, coming second in the Petite Final (7:03.58) … Parents’ Award recipient.
Sophomore (2014-15): At the Eastern Sprints Regatta, she sat in the six seat of the third varsity that came second in the Grand Final (7:01.48) … was the six seat in the third varsity that placed seventh in the Grand Final at the Ivy League Championship (6:59.728).
Q&A with Hattie Van Metre
I transferred to Dartmouth because of how much it felt like home to me. That along with the vast amount of academic opportunities that Dartmouth presents really drew me here. Hearing about my sister's experience within this immensely supportive community, and how much she loved it, sealed the deal.
How long have you been rowing and what interested you about rowing?
I've been rowing for a year. It interested me because it's not as popular in Minnesota as it is in other states, and I was really curious about it.
What is something about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates?
Something that might come as a surprise to my teammates is that I own 5 pairs of Crocs.
What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus?
Along with rowing, I am also a sister of the Tri Delta Sorority.
What are your future plans, if any?
I plan to major in government and travel as much as I can!
