Senior (2016-17): Academic All-Ivy … stroked the varsity 8 all season … at the Head of the Charles Championship 8+, he stroked the boat to an 11th-place finish (15:29.34) … was in the varsity 8A boat that took second place in the Princeton Chase (12:46.87) … at the IRA National Regatta, he stroked the first varsity boat that came in third place in the Petite Final (5:53.60) … was the stroke for Dartmouth at the Royal Henley Regatta.

Junior (2015-16): IRA All-Academic … Academic All-Ivy … The Class of 1948 Scholar-Athlete Award … Peter V.W. Gardner Award … rowed in the varsity 8 boat all season … was in the three seat when his boat defeated MIT, Holy Cross and Columbia (6:08.6) … helped his boat finish in fifth place in the Petite Final at the Eastern Sprints Regatta (5:49.71) … at the IRA Regatta, he was in the three seat of the boat that was second in the third final (5:57.41).

Sophomore (2014-15): Opened the season as the three seat of the men’s championship 8 boat that finished 26th at the Head of the Charles (15:22.805) … sat in the three seat of the second varsity that was first in the Packard Cup (5:45.6) … at the IRA Regatta, he sat in the five seat of the third varsity that placed sixth in the Petite Final (6:01.779).

Before Dartmouth: Played tennis for three years in high school … took a gap year in between high school and Dartmouth.

Personal: Spencer Furey is the son of Michael and Nancy Furey … father graduated from Dartmouth in 1971 and played football and golf … interested in government, english and theater … enjoys reading and traveling.
